Help - Quality of iMovie

I have some MPG from my camera and other MOV files.

Anyway these play fine in QuickTime and look good in quality
When I pull these into iMovie the quality does not look good, so Sharing these to DVD or QuickTime files does not give an overall good quality movie.


Am I importing these wrong to iMovie (at the moment I just drag n drop them in)???

iMovie is an editor, not a player. You want high-quality rendering in a player. You want your editor to be fast. Making its display high-quality will substantially slow it down.

Recommendation: Use iMovie as an editor. Use the QuickTime Player as your player. Enjoy life.

Change your iMovie export settings to Custom and you can set your file sizes accordingly. Web Streaming/Viewing is obviously lower quality than DVD quality, for example.
