I used my DV cam to record my Sons first school play and used imovie to clean it up and add some effects and titles. THe finished product is about 10 minutes long and I want to burn the 10 minute clip to CD and send it off to assorted family members. Now I just spent the last 3 hours trying to find an good quality compression and none of them have made me happy except one. THe only problem is it is Divx. Most of my family is pretty computer illiterate and If they have to install a Divx codec they would probably be lost. Using the DV codec the size is 1.8 meg and using the CD quality it is 69 meg and there is no in between. I have run across multiple clips that are in the 200-300 meg range that are mpeg or .mov and have near perfect video quality. THats what I want! I tried sorenson at 29.xx fps and keyed every 5 frames that was close but still relicy so what am I missing. I am pretty video stupid so anyone care to explain which codec to use?
