Help Viewer Sloooooow in 10.3.2

I have a 15" Albook, and when I run Help Viewer, the window comes up, but typing in the search field is incredibly slow, and then nothing happens when I search. Any advice? It does not "crash" (I can still quit the app), but it doesn't work. :(
 
Every help viewer I've ever seen has been helishly SLOW and not very help-full, on any OS! I avoid using them at all costs. A tad ironic, I guess :rolleyes:
 
Help viewer was slow extremely slow in Jaguar. In Panther it is ok. The support site at Apple.com is still faster than the help viewer - thats wahat i use.
 
As I understand it, Apple were meant to have gone to town on the Help system in Panther to make it faster and more helpful.

Yes, they went to town all right, then got drunk and come back all bleary-eyed and hung-over and wrote the Help system... :D
 
A member of our mac users group said to trash com.apple.helpviewer.plist, which worked for me. Hope this helps.
