Help with airport please

Hi can someone please help.

I'm running 10.3.9
I can use every function of my airport except getting online.
I can get online with a direct connection via ethernet but not through the airport network. I've tried every imaginable combination of settings and ran through all the troubleshooting steps but no luck.
Is there something I'm missing here??

Any help will be appreciated.

You need to be more specific. What happens when you try to connect?
Which Mac? etc...

Ok I'm using a G4 titanium power book

I can connect through a different wireless network (not my own) to the internet. When I try with the network I created it stalls. I guess my first question is if I should be using PPPoE for this?
With certain settings when I try to connect it says It cannot find a PPPoE host.

I should add, when I first purchased the airport express a friend installed it and it all worked. I moved and have never been able to make it work both the itunes, printer and the internet. Currently I have to change my airport network to get online and listen to music wirelessly.

Sorry if this is not specific, I'm not the most computer literate. I called Verizon tech support and the guy setup my modem to be ready to connect with the airport. He said that is as far as he can go and that I would need to do the rest. The rest is where i'm having problems.
