Help with Help

I have a core duo macbook running 10.4.8. My problem is that whenever I activate Help it does one of two things

Away from my home network an error : "Connection failed, the server may not exist or it .... "

When on my home network an icon appears as soon as I activate Help. It is my iMac which controls the Airport.

I assume I need to tell help not to look for an internet connection?

Thanks

Simon

If you can get it launched, click on "Help Viewer" in the menu bar and make sure that "Include Product Support Searches" is not ticked (checked). Not sure if this will help!

Thanks, unfortunately that did not work. Having done some surfing I think that the console may provide information of use - it means nothing to me of course. The problem is something to do with AFP connection Status ... whatever that is

Here is the console errors ...
