help with steermouse

I have not been able to get the side buttons to function as forward and backward buttons when web browsing. I have set them to cmd + ] and cmd + [ when i push them in firefox they do not work properly. i have a apple wireless mighty mouse. there is no error info either. please help!

Unfortunately the side buttons on a "Mighty Mouse" offer only 1 function, when you squeeze the 2 buttons together you can program 1 function.
I have mine programmed for the browser back function, cmd + [ and it works fine.
