My friend has a apple imac classic and it has os9.2 and 10.2 loaded on it. It didnt come with back ups of os9 or x cds(friend got it somewhere). I really need to initalize the hd but i wont be able to since i dont have the cds. I need to have it initalized and OS back installed by sat. Anything would help.

buy a legitimate copy? :p

That's the only way I can guess you'd be able to reinstall the OS. I don't know if anyone can burn a copy and FedEx it to you... ;)

I need to initialized because its not partioed the way my friend wants it plus there are alot of prob with osx that i think are from prog the old owner used to run. If any 1 would do me the favor that would be great. Yeah i do have a burner but will that help?

you could burn the contents of your HD onto CDRWs, and then initialize, and then put the stuff back on. But if your system is corrupted, you need to buy the CDs.

you are going to have buy the discs...

why would anyone buy a computer without the software/OS discs?

i suppose if it was really cheaper ( as in used) , but then they should buy the discs with all the $$ left over.

Isn't the seller still around? He should have the CDs, and you own them when you buy the computer off of him. The least he can do is give you copies of the CDs, but the original CDs go with the Macs.

Also, 10.2 isn't out yet and surely wasn't on the original CD of the iMac.
