Ok, so if the above rumor is true then here's an idea:

Apple:

When the Powerbooks and iBooks finally get G5 processors I think it would be wise of you to introduce a very-low cost G4 notebook akin to the Mac Mini. So then, PC users switching to the Mac that want a cheap portable and not a cheap desktop can get what they want, too.

not a bad srategy, though i think that the majority of people who buy these notebooks would be the professionals, more so than the switchers. i for one would be increadibly upset if in april or so they sell the same Book that I bought for 700 to 1000 dollars less, b/c it has a G4 instead of a G5. but i guess thats the nature of tech.
