I wanted to know if you can do green screen with the final cut express?, the first version, not HD. Can you give your video a grainy film look? Thanks!

Not sure if it's in Express, but in Pro there are blue/greenscreen filters in the Effects menu, Effects->Video Filters->Key. "Blue and Green Screen" and "Spill Suppressor - Green" is what you need. There is a tutorial on how to do them in the FCP documentation, so if these filters are in FCE as well, they're probably documented in the book or PDF file.

Shake is definitely a better application to use for keying though. You can get a free trial on http://www.apple.com/shake/trial/
