hiding windows question

I really like hiding things in OS X as opposed to minimizing, since I can get to all of an app's windows from its context menu fron the Dock. Very clean. Is there any way to hide just one window of an app, as in one IE browser window? I wish there were a per-window hide button in the title bar.

Thanks.

Clicking command and H keys will hide the front window. Don't know if this is what you are after.

No, this hides every one of the app's windows. If IE has three browser windows open, command-h will hide all three. I want to be able to hide just one of the three, for example.

This is what the Aqua Guidelines says:

"Reserved and recommended keyboard equivalents
Menu Keys Command
Application Command-H* Hide
Application Command-Q* Quit
Window Command-M* Minimize
File Command-N* New
…
*These combinations are reserved by the system; the others are
recommended."

I haven't got Mac OS X yet so I can't verify this. Maybe just IE is badly programmed?

No, I tried it with TextEdit as well. Command-m does minimize the one windows, but command-h will hide all windows of the application.
