Hmmm, iPod charges to FULL in 1.5 hours?

"After about one hour the battery will be at 80% charge, after about 4 hours it will be at 100%. When the battery indicator stops animating, the battery is at full charge".

Why is it, then, that my iPod charges to full in way less than 4 hours? Does this mean I've burned the battery already (only cycled about 3 times so far)?! It's quite difficult to estimate how long the battery lasts, but I'd guess somewhere around 6-8 hours...

Should I be calling Apple?

BTW I've always, so far, charged for 4 hours (while not in use), and completely discharged it before recharging...

Opinions, please.

The time your battery lasts depends highly on the volume. A user here(can't recall who) once did a test in which he took the fully charged iPod and timed it playing. The difference was over an hour between 25% and 75% volume.

As for charging, I've never really worried. That battery seems to manage being charged without being drained first.

I knew that volume had an effect (powers the diaphragms in the headphones) but I didn't realise it was that big!

Thanks for the rassurance (reassurance?) :)
