Holy Cow!, What have I done!

macfreak88

Bring me Tiger!

I totaly screwed my terminal up today!, I tried to sudo empty the trash and I think I took the wrong trash, then when I made the trash comand it said something about mach.sym and some other stuff and I just tried to stop the whole thing.

Next time I opened terminal it says this!!!:

panic.pdf

Holy Cow what tha heck is that? :(, where went the normal thing ? *Dohh!*

The picture you posted is not online, macfreak. Please attach it to your post.

Anyway, if you've done something you feel is wrong/dangerous, reboot in single user (Command-S) and type fsck until all disk errors vanish. Then reboot. In doubt, reinstall the system (doesn't cost very much, can be a good opportunity to clean the whole up ;) ).

macfreak, the image you tried to attach is actually a PDF (you probably took a screenshot in OS 10.2.x, which makes PDFs now) -- everyone else, go here:

http://medlem.spray.se/hotman1988/panic.pdf

That's the screen shot.

It's a PAM error. PAM means "Pluggable Authentication Modules" (I always thought they were Password Authentication..., but I just looked it up again). Whatever you deleted, it now prevents your user from getting shell access.

Hmm. Any ideas what macfreak could have deleted? It's possible that you just deleted session information, and you need to reboot. First, try logging out and then back in again -- this alone should create new session information. Then, failing that, try rebooting the machine. Let us know what happens.

Look when I restarted then I got a panic when I saw some text run on the leftside of the screeen and with black color behind it like in terminal. And I didn't understand a shit! :D, and there was no way to get out that it my situation and same thing when tryiong to re-install the system, then I put the Cd in the drive and restarted, and then the ALT key and selected the Jaguar to boot from and then reinstall the system

Now some Hours after, with some sleep It was finnished, but when I trie to select instalation disk (my origin HD) it said that it was a never version so I made the alternative "Install The old system 10.2 and save the other system map and copy the settings etc". Now when it is finnished and wotking, can I delete the "Previous System" which it is called?, And how do I do it in terminal :D, don't wanna screw anything now, hehe.

Anyway thanx for the support!.
