Home Folder

So anyway this guy hasn't worked here for about 6 months. I was hired as his replacement... Well, he was given this new Mac before he left, and of course after he left I took his work station. And for some reason he decided to name the home folder after himself. So now that I'm sick of looking at his name every single day, does any know how I can change the name of the home folder to something like say.... "home"? Don't you dare say click on it and rename it. You think it would be an easy solution.

[Edit]Do NOT right-click (or control click) on it and rename it in Finder. If you tried that very tempting menu item, as I did, you can fix the mess you made of your home directory. See

No, you cannot simply rename it in the Finder. It is possible to change it, though. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106824

By the way, it's perfectly normal for your home folder to be the same as your short user name, so it's not like he did anything odd.

You can use ChangeShortName 1.3
