Hosting Apache <VirtualHost>s from NFS ?

As far as I've read using NFS mounted volumes is only troublesome when using a lockfile.

Are there any problems related to hosting folders from NFS volumes ?

Well, there might be performance issues... I can't think of any huge issues for read-only access though.
