Hot-plugging Apple display to Powerbook?

Is it safe to connect/disconnect my 23" Apple Cinema display while my G4 Powerbook is running? I've been shutting down every time, but that's a pain.

If hot-plugging while powered up is bad, does putting the Powerbook to sleep make any difference?

** Warning: Read your manual. I don't have a definitive answer for this and don't want to be responsible for damaging your machine!! **

That said, I think putting it to sleep first would be a good idea. I do that before I hook up my machine to my projector.

I hot-plug in and out since Mac OS X 10.3, I believe, and it hasn't killed a notebook for me yet. And of _course_ you're not responsible, dktrickey. Nobody on these forums claim to be the ultimate authority on anything. And even if you'd _do_ so, the user would still be responsible for his actions.
