Hotsync fails to launch

Hi
I have been trying to set up my new iBookG4 to snyc with my Palm Tungsten E. I installed: palm desktop managert 4.2.1, iSync 1.5, iSync palm conduit 1.2. This all went well.

The next step (per the iSync helpfile:"Setting up to sync your Palm OS device") is "Open Hotsync Manager". No go - I get this message:

"The application "HotSync Manager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "

PalmOne site suggests that it is an 'Archive and Install' problem - workaround = "reinstall Palm Desktop from the CD". This might be helpful if I had the CD, but I don't.

Is there a way I can just use "Show Package Contents" to drill down through the Palm Desktop Installer and move the required files to wherever it is that they belong?
Thanks,
Chuck

You might try downloading this:
palmOne Permissions Fixer. It didn't work for me, but it might address your issue.
You don't need a palm cd, just download the installer from their site if need be. It's probably on a Mac OSX installer CD too, they used to keep one there...
I heard one of the new palms definitely cannot work with isync. Not sure which.

Now as for ME, I have had DT4.1 running on 10.3.8 without tying to iSync. Clie, BTW. Today I tried, and turned on Apple conduit in Hot Sync, all conduits are where they are now supposed to be, but nothing shows up in iSync other than .Mac and iPod. I remember this worked last year when I tried it, but I've been through may OS upgrades and updates since then. Argh.
