How can I change my main password without using the installation cd?

this is because my cd drive is spoilt and i cannot find any other alternative to change my paraphrase, keychain and main password.

help?
 
As far as I know, the only way to change the password is using the disc. Otherwise, it would be a pretty insecure system.

Also, the HOW-TO section is to provide HOW-TO information and tips on certain topics, not on asking how to do something. Just wanted to let you know.

The HOWTO forum is for posting HOWTO's. A tutorial or description on how to do something.

It is not for asking questions.
 
If you can log in under the account in question, you can simply go to the System Preferences, then "Accounts", then click "Change Password."
