How can I clear address shortcuts in Mac Mail?

I am forever sending emails to the wrong recipients because the auto-complete feature in Mac Mail remembers every address I have ever received mail from. How can I clear Mail's memory of all addresses except the contents of my address book?
 
You can edit those email addresses by launching Mail, then go to the Window menu, then Previous Recipients. You can delete some, or all in that list - or add some to your address book. Any that are already in your address book will have a a small card icon next to the entry.
