How can I disable the change of the boot screen resolution

Since installation of 10.4 the boot screen resolution will be always changed to a low value (IMO 800x600), the normal value for my TFT is 1280x1024. It depends always from last running system: if the last was 10.3.x or 9.2.2 then the boot screen (the Boot Volume Selection screen and grey apple screen) uses the right 1280x1024, but if 10.4 was the last running system then the boot screen use a lower resolution which of course is blurred on a TFT.

Exists there any work around. Since 10.0 I must use TinkerTool System to
disable the Startup Sound, otherwise it wake up the neighborhood or the the system warn sound is not audible. I have send 2 bug reports but Apple does not add a Startup Sound Volume selection and now it changes also the screen resolution for the boot at it's discretion. Again a step nearer to Windows.

Try deleting the "ByHost" preferences from your Home-->Library-->Preferences-->ByHost

Thanks for your tipp, but this doesn't solve the problem :-(. IMO it is a problem that I use an ADC-TFT but not from Apple or they change always the settings for boot, so that it works with ethery new connected monitor. A good idea but it schould be exists a possibility to disable it.

I look at the boot screen about 1 minute per month – depending on how many security updates and system updates Apple releases. How much do you? :P

Sarcasm aside, I think Apple should provide some information on how to fix problems with screen resolutions... :/

set it up to boot in verbose mode. then the screen will stay at 1280x1024. well at least my lcd does, connected on vga. but my crt never did, it started at 640*480 and stayed there till i hit the desktop. so i might depend on the monitor itself.
