How can i have MacMini be WiFi 802.11a ?

I'm not sure what your question is, but from webopedia.com:
802.11 refers to a family of specifications developed by the IEEE for wireless LAN technology. 802.11 specifies an over-the-air interface between a wireless client and a base station or between two wireless clients. The IEEE accepted the specification in 1997.
There are several specifications in the 802.11 family:

802.11 -- applies to wireless LANs and provides 1 or 2 Mbps transmission in the 2.4 GHz band using either frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) or direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS).
802.11a -- an extension to 802.11 that applies to wireless LANs and provides up to 54 Mbps in the 5GHz band. 802.11a uses an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing encoding scheme rather than FHSS or DSSS.
802.11b (also referred to as 802.11 High Rate or Wi-Fi) -- an extension to 802.11 that applies to wireless LANS and provides 11 Mbps transmission (with a fallback to 5.5, 2 and 1 Mbps) in the 2.4 GHz band. 802.11b uses only DSSS. 802.11b was a 1999 ratification to the original 802.11 standard, allowing wireless functionality comparable to Ethernet.
802.11g -- applies to wireless LANs and provides 20+ Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band.

What is the model of the mac mini?

Airport only supports 802.11b and 802.11g.

however, the new intel Macs apparently have all 802.11 a/b/g WiFi cards. So... Maybe they _do_ work with 802.11a?

But I have to add: Your question isn't too clear. Are you asking why it works or whether you can _make_ it work?

There is somes genius guys who hack a Panasonic Dvx100a DV camera and with the help of a software made by them, can capture high resolution video at 12 Bits. Here their www;

http://www.reel-stream.com/

The things is that modification of that camera only work with a Apple computer to control their software trought USB 2.0.

My goal is to attach a MacMini to that modified camera (see at: http://www.magicine.com/) and control everything from wireless... Already know wireless Mouse/keyboard and start to search on the net for a wireless monitor. All i need is a way to see that i'm activating the software when i press "capture" and see on a wireless monitor that the process is ON.

I know that 802.11a got less interference with 802.11a than with 802.11b, because 802.11a provides more available channels. Most of the Wireless video Display Adapter (like this one: http://www.otcwireless.com/products/wijetgmac.html) work on 802.11.g. But in case of shooting, i need the less interference...

But ive found this who do keyboard/mouse/monitor in a wireless way with 802.11a:
http://www.avocent.com/web/en.nsf/Content/LongView+Wireless
Things is, its not Mac friendly... but i'm sure there is a re-future for 802.11a in the 802.11.b(g) world... world of compatibility...

Ive just read the arcticle on the new intel dual core who will be universal in a sens with wireless frequency... hope they will be more way to have a wireless monitor trough MacMini any sooner.

thanks

802.11a is not compatible directly with b and g. And while the new intel Macs _do_ have hardware that theoretically also supports the "a" standard, so far Apple doesn't support it, and that means it's like the hardware wouldn't support it: It's just not "there" for the Mac OS X user.
