How can I remove the iChat item in the menu bar?

I accidentally ran iChat, and now there is a little balloon in the menu bar every time I log in. How can I remove it?

Try holding the Option key and dragging it ut.

Actually, the proper key is the Apple key.
There is also an option in the iChat prefs to remove the 'menu-ling'.
