Hi, im trying to print to my Brother HL-2030 from my Powermac G5 over the network. The printer is connected to a windows machine and is set to sharing. The G5 will find it with the printer browser and ad it and i can sent a job to it but it gives an access deinied error message.

I have installed the correct drivers on the G5

any help would be greaty appriciated :)

Thanks.

Whoops, sorry for putting this in the wrong place. Learnt my lesson now :-D

No, you do not have the correct driver. As a general rule, you cannot use a USB driver for a networked printer. You need to use MacOS X's built-in CUPS printing facility for your Windows-connected USB printer. You have to download the PPD file for your Brother HL-2030. You should also download and install GutenPrint 5.0. This also contains the required documentation in PDF form.

So i just have to install gimp print and the PPD file for the printer and it wont have the access denied problems?

Thanks.
