Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a solution to get back into the hard drive?

After using the Disk Warrior disc as a startup to fix the directory, and restarting the computer. It startup from the Disk Warrior disc again. After i took out the disc, this is when the darwin/bsd screen appears.
I had tried the following:
1. pressing OPTION KEY while it boots up, still wont recognize the HD
2. pressing C KEY while it boots up, still wont recognize the HD
3. pressig the SHIFT key while it boots up, still wont recognize the HD
4. Hold down the "X" - does not work, it goes back to Darwin screen.
5.COMMAND+OPTION+P+R - does not work, it goes back to the Darwin screen.
6. I tried pressing S KEY to go to the single mode - and reboot it again, only the blue screen comes out and nothing else.
7. I tried to startup from the install disk, it will not even recognize it.

Also, I had misplaced the disk utility disc..

can someone tell me how to resolve this situation..

desepartely seeking help

e

What was wrong with the disk in the first place? Maybe Disk Warrior didn't solve that problem but might have made it worse? Try to start from the OS X installation disk and use Disk Utility instead.

i had a little problem with the directory, so i decided to run DW and used the DW as a startup (in order to run the HD), after completing DW, from there i was unable to reboot from my startup HD.

Every time i turn on the computer, it goes straight to a blue screen and nothing else.

I had misplaced my mac os x installation and disk utility.. do you happen to know if there is any way i can download the disk utility disk.

thanks,
e

What Ver of OS X are you running. Because if it is 10.4.3 or higher then you need make shere that DW is upto date. Because if it's not to will hose the OS if you running DW for 10.3.9 or 10.4. And no you can't just download the Disk utility part. You have go and look on BitTorrent sites to see if you can find a working copy of OS X that you can download and then Brun to DVD. But I would say to goto OWC and get a copy of what ever Ver of OS X you are using.

Thank you for responding to message, i have mac os x 10.3.9 version. I will try to download the bit torrent for the disk utility.

I may have to reinstall mac os x, nothing seem to be working. The only option i have right now is to go into single mode. I had tried using the safe mode, it still will not reboot from the startup disk. And it doenst not even recognize anything i put in the dvd/cd drive.

I would say that you might try buying a Know good working copy of 10.3.9 from OWC they have good copys of 10.3.9 for sale for 47.99 that will work. That way you would know that the disk you have are good and working. Then if the drive will not see or boot from the those disk then you know it a drive mass up some how. The link to the 10.3.9 at OWC is http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/6914909A/

The apple genius bar should have a copy of disk utility. If you do end up having to re-install, you can always use firewire target disk mode to recover your files. (the catch with that is that you will need another mac..)
