How Do I Change Short Name in My Account????

I'd like to know if it is at all possible as I have to install Tiger on 7 identical G4's and would much rather install it once on a firewire drive, clone it to all 7 G4's, and change the user names to suit. But recently I returned an iBook to Apple for repairs, when I recieved it back complete with new HD they had installed system with the user name Admin/admin. I rang and asked how to change the name and was told I'd have to reinstall.
 
The easiest and safest way to change the short name on an account is to create a second account with administrative privileges, logon to the new account and delete the old account.

Alternatively, follow the 40 step process outlined in Apple Knowledge Base article 106824 very very carefully.
 
the short name is a thing embedded into the entire structure of the system, its a foundation. changing it, therefore, is not easy. or advisable. i've had plenty of problems in the past when i attempted to change mine
