How do I configure an IBM laptop (XPPro/Linksys) to use ABS?

Set up:

Ti PB 10.2.8

snow airport (dual ethernet)

IBM laptop (XP Pro w/Linksys PC card 802.11b)



What software should I use to configure the IBM/Linksys to connect to the airport network? The Linksys driver is installed on the IBM for the card. I assume this is what I should use.

What SSID do i use? Is this where I put the Network name?

I have an open network but want to use password protection for the airport.

There is an ABS admin tool for WinBlows: here is the link http://www.apple.com/airport/

I am not sure, but I believe it will may help.

Nope. I just need to access my Airport network from the IBM. I admin the ABS from my TiPB. I think I got it figured out. Though.

The SSID is the airport network name = airport
The network WEP key is the password.

I just need my girlfriend to let me "borrow" the IBM so I can config it for her.


I will keep ya'll (beginners) posted.

BTW, This forum is WAY better than the debacle @MacNN forums. All the people over there love to get into a pissing match over EVERY new post. Like they have nothing better to do.

Cool, glad you got it working. Make sure you add the IBM to the access list.

yeah it works -- now im working on my new t616 w/ Sailing Clicker to run various programs on my PB -- Sweet!!
