How do I make my fans run faster?

Hello.

Before I attempt this, I just was wondering...can this break your mac if you set the fans to run too fast?

Was just wondering if there was some way to control my internal fans with my iMac g5 PPC

No, it won't break your Mac, but it will shorten the life of the fans themselves.

There is an app called SMCFanControl that will control fan speed on Intel-based Macs -- since you're still on a PowerPC Mac, that's not going to help you. I don't know of any way of doing this on a non-Intel-based Macintosh computer.

Is there any reason you need to make the fans spin faster? The internal mechanisms for controlling fan speed are usually adequate for keeping your computer running within the tolerances of what it's supposed to run at.
