How do I turn off my iPod when docked?

Yesterday, I took my iPod off the dock for about 60 seconds...the rest of the day, it was charging. I went to bed with it fully charged, and still on the dock. Right before bed, I had a kernel panic (my third in 2 weeks....odd), and decided to just leave the power on my iMac off. When I woke up, my iPod was almost dead. The thing is, after it syncs with iTunes, it automatically takes itself to the menu screen (playlists, browse, etc), and just stays there...it never turns off, and the battery drains, unless it's getting powered from the firewire port. Is there any way to turn it off, and keep it off, while it's docked/charging?

The iPod is powered (and the battery charged) by the firewire port, as long as your Mac is on. If the Mac goes to sleep, the iPod doesn't charge. Unless you changed the settings the iPod should turn itself off after 2 minutes (I think) of inactivity. If you want to turn it off just hold down the Play button (>||) for a couple of seconds.

Marc

I think it wont turn off by it's self if you have it in the dock with hold on. Try taking hold off and watch and see if it turns off by it's self.
