I want to get all the music of my original iPod. I tried using the restore on in iPod update program. It ran for fours hours before I pulled the plug on it and it did nothing. I tried an Apple script I found on the net and did not work either. It is updated to 1.3. It will not take the new updates I guess it is too old. Any ideas I want to repack the music on it.

You may have damaged the unit by unplugging it while mounted.
You'll need iPod software revision 1.2.6 if you have an older iPod. Plug it in, mount it, run the Restore feature. It should take about 10 seconds to complete.
