Here is a question you probably don't hear often...

How do I wipe mail.app of all data, email accounts, folders, saved mail, and the addressbook? I want it to be a clean start just as if this was the first time I opened it. Is there an easy way?

In case you want to know why? I havn't used the app in several years but it stall has all my old info in there, and its a pain to clear it all by hand. There must be a file somewhere I can just kill...

I think you can just trash the contents of ~/Library/Mail/ as well as deleting Mail.app's plist file, but I would wait for verification from someone else here before doing that.

yup that worked. (I renamed the files b4 I killed them just in case). It even launched the wizard. :D

Now how do I do the same for Addressbook.app?

I believe that's ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/... again, renaming would be wisest! Glad to hear that Mail thing worked!
