Anyone running macosx on the new tibook?

Post your experiences here. Would love to know how the superdrive is supported under jaguar and how the new graphiccard accelerates the quartz extreme engine...

tnx

Sam

Erhm... Jaguar is perfect on my TiBook 500, Quartz Extreme was perfect on the TiBook 800, I guess it rocks on the TiBook 1000. The SuperDrive, as you can read on apple.com, is a 1x DVD write drive, so it's as fast as the first SuperDrives used and half as fast as current iMacs' and PowerMacs' drives. The 'support' of SuperDrive in Jaguar is excellent, meaning you can use iDVD or DVD Studio Pro, but you can also write (data) DVDs from the Finder, through Disk Copy or a third party utility like Roxio's Toast 5.2.

tnx for reply!

I was also interested, whether the ati 9000 64mb (does it have 128bit memory???) graphiccard brings any improvment for the extreme-engine. Not that it would be necessary. Right now I have the iBook 600 with 8mb Rage and scrolling things is really bad and annoying. Just want to make sure this won't be an issue on the new tibooks.

Cheers
Sam

 I've been on an iMac G4 700 Mhz and it was so much faster than my iMac G3 under OS X. (See below for stats.) The GHz Powerbook G4 was built for Jaguar anyway--

Wait, have you even been on a brand-new computer? :p :D

Everything should run butter-smooth... If you still have doubts, TRY ONE!
