I have a G4 Quicksilver 867MHz och ett TurboMAX/ATA pci kort 9004 inside. How many harddrives can I put then?

Now I have 2 harddrives +1 DVD burner +1 ZIP drive in the computer and would like to put one more harddrive.

Should be no problem adding another drive. You have two drive support on the on board IDE controller, and if your TurboMax is an IDE/ATA card, you have added controller (s).

Thanks bobw but I think that my TurboMax card is pure SCSI as I bought it a long time ago so I could connect old SCSI devices as my old scanners etc.

From what I understand from your answer the Mac itself only supports 2 harddrives which I allready have Or?

You have two IDE buses. Each will support two devices. You have 2 hard drives on one; and a burner and a Zip drive on the other. You can add a PCI IDE adapter card, which could support one or two more pairs, if there is a physical place to put them - could be on the floor of the enclosure if there is room.
Another option would be to replace the Zip drive with a third hard drive (not an ideal solution as you lose some speed due to your burner limiting that bus to 33 MHz)

Ok, do you have any good suggestion for a PCI IDE card? Will any of the PC standard do?

Some one also told me that the max speed driver I can put in the Quicksilver is 128Gb for each drive???

For the moment I will skip the PCI card as they are so expencive and buy 2 new Samsung 120Gb, 7200rpm drives. But shall I buy IDE or SATA disks?

If you're not planning on goping to a G5, get an IDE drive. To use a SATA drive, you would need to add an SATA PCI card for it.
