how much do you think i should pay for a used 12" 600mhz iBook?

the ones i have seen so far just have the cd-rom/dvd rom drive, 15gb hard drives, and the stock 128mb ram.

how much do you guys think i should consider paying before i say "thanks, but no thanks."

i don't have much experience w/ laptops purchasing, so i don't really know how much they lose value.
 
I've seen new with the combo drive priced at $1,800 US.
Figure in usage and I'd go with $1,200 or less.

But that's my guess.
 
a 600mhz ibook, used for 1200? geez, you gotta be kidding me. the NEW ones are only 1300, and thats with more video ram and a bigger HD.

you sure you're thinking of the iBook? i'm thinking more like 650 or so.
 
PowerMax.com has them for ~$900 used. Don't know if they have the combo drives, though. I've seen tech. forums with for sale/trade areas sell for around $700.
 
thanks for the input guys.

i'm trying to snag one for around 600 - i don't need the latest and greatest, just a decent iBook to travel with me. if anyone sees anything, let me know. ;)
