I am running 10.1.4 on a 700mhz g3. I want to upgrade to panther or tiger. How much memory with the ibook handle. I am assuming that it will run tiger if I can get enough memory in it. What speed does the memory need to be? pc100, pc133, ddr?
Thanks,
JR

SGilbert,
Thanks, I went to mactrackers site and it appears that I need at least ver 10.2 to use it. I have 10.1.4

Just to cut to the chase here - You have 128MB memory permanently on the logic board, and you have a single memory slot that will take a PC100 or PC 133 SO-DIMM, maximum of 512MB, so your maximum memory can be 640MB.

If you want to go to 10.4 Tiger, then you should find out if you have a DVD or DVD combo drive, as some iBooks will have only a CD-Rom drive. Tiger can be found on CDs, but not so easy to find in that form. Normally it will be on DVD.

Thanks, I currently have a 256mb stick in the ibook. I will find a stick of 512 and use that. I do have a DVD drive. Thanks for the help and really quick replies.
