How should I backup 100GB+ of data?

I'm awesome...seriously..
I just got done with a video project and have over 100GB of footage, files, etc. Basically just wondering the best way to compress and store it for long term without having to burn like 20 DVD's.

If it were me, I'd invest in a nice FireWire enclosure and grab up a large hard drive on sale someplace. If your just using it for archiving purposes, it doesn't have to be the best performing drive, so you'll have lots of available options on sale.

When your done, you can pack the drive back up in the packaging that it arrived in and store it safely, if you need to put another drive into the enclosure.

Space is cheap and getting cheaper by the day. A good external HD won't set you back that much. However, you may want to bite the bullet some time and burn to DVD in order to have a duplicate backup (can never be too safe) that you can keep somewhere other than where your Mac and external is.
