How To Burn a SVCD

Can someone do a write up for everyone here? I am a new Mac user and new to the forums and couldn't find any definitive answers on how to take a file (ex. avi, mov, etc...) and burn it to SVCD.

toast always shuts down on me./... why is that? do i need to prep the files at all? or just drag any movie into the prog...


what are the advantages of using ffmpegx to decode first?
