How To Clone OS X and....

Hey all,
I want to create a bootable back up of OS X 10.4.8 on an external FW drive; but, I would also like to use that same FW drive as mass storage and use it between my mac and windows machine. Is this do-able?

I just partitioned my FW using disk utility, and set the partition scheme as a Master Boot Record. Then I created two partitions, one is 30G and is set for Mac OS exteneded (journaled), and the other one is 200G and is set for MS Dos file system. Is this gonna work?

Hypothetically, I should be able to start up in target disk mode on the 30G partition I think. I'm using CCcloner for creating the back up.

Thanks for any input.

yes, that would work, as long as the drive you are hoping to clone will fit in the 30gb HFS+ Extended partition.

use CCCloner or my preference, SuperDuper!, clone it across, making sure you tick the box 'make bootable' and you should be fine. windows will see both partitions, but will only be able to read the larger, FAT-32 partition. the other one, without MacDrive installed will want to be formatted by windows, so be careful of that.

That worked great! I'm running off the FW right now, and I've got the other partition set at FAT32.

F'n A man. F'n A. Thanks for the feedback.
