How to convert mp4 video on mac ?

I usually download some videos online ,but sometimes I found the mp4 video is not very clear ,so I think whether is there a software for mac which can convert the mp4 to other format , such as DVD . In that case ,I can play them on my TV . Thank you !

You can never "add more quality" to a video file -- if the original file is "not very clear" then converting the video to a different format isn't going to add any clarity to it whatsoever. The quality of the video, if converted to a different format, can only stay the same, or, more likely, be reduced even further.

I think the up answer is right . Converting the format will not change the file's quality ,and the standard of the file's clear almost depends on the original format .
