How To Convert Unix Files To Quartz Composer Files

Hi. I am trying to do some creative programing and I know essentially nothing about programing.
I am trying to take a unix executable file named fog factory, that is an transition effect from iMovie HD and get it to work with iMovie '09. The iMovie 09 uses quartz composer Transitions. Is this possible without going back to school? Is it legal? Should I post this in another forum?
 
The general rule: you can’t take a component from recent and make it work with a program from the past. Components/add-ons to a program are not backwards compatible.

Thanks for getting back to me but that's not the case here. The unix file is the old one that I want to run on the newer system (quartz composer). The transitions from the old iMovie are not available in the '09 version buy I figured I'd be able to convert the files and make them work.
