How to create CD icons that show up in OS X?

I have tried many methods, even copying one of my app CDs to see if the icon would copy, all with no luck. I would love to have my custom icons show up in X as they do on the desktop of 9. All the icons I made are for X, they just never show, instead the default CD icons is always displayed. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you can do it by putting the icns format icon into .VolumeIcon.icns in the root folder of the CD. I haven't tried it though.
