How to Get Back My Deleted Mac Mail ???

I need serious help ... !!! I accidentally deleted a folder (with lots of folders inside!) of very important e-mail containing years of research ... !!!

Is there any possible way to get it back? I was trying to change the names of folders, from lower case to upper case, and I got a message telling me that I couldn't do that, because there was already a folder like that.

I saw an extra folder, and clicked on it, but there appeared to be nothing in it, so I chose Delete from the menu. Only to find out it was the real folder with many other folders inside.

I’m using Mac Mail, OS X 10.4.11 -- I did NOT choose Erase Deleted Messages from the menu yet ... !!! Is there still hope to recover all those deleted messages .... ???

I need to get that e-mail back somehow ....

Any suggestions ... ??? Help !!!

VGA; Do you have "time Machine?" If so; open it and go back to date when all was okay and find the folder or folders in question>highlight it or select and then drop down to restore button and click on it. It will take a couple of secs. to restore. I should come back up in your hard drive.

open, but do not empty! the trash in mail and see if that folder is still there.

I've already checked the Trash folder in Mac Mail, but the deleted mail is not there. There is still a bunch of other mail I've sent to the Trash before though .... but none of the messages I've accidentally deleted are in there ...

Shut the computer down ASAP! You are probably going to need something like Data Rescue II http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php or else if you don't want to pay the price for the software or don't have the resources such as another computer to use software with or means of extra storage such as external HDs, you might want to check some local shops around you that do repairs and data recoveries.
