How to hide typing on iChat???

Hi there. I know I've seen an option for this before, but I cannot find it anywhere. How do you change the setting for showing or hiding when your buddies can see you typing while you're chatting with them?? Not that it's a major thing, but I wanted to change it and I can't. Thanks for any help. Have a gr8 day!

There's no such option in iChat. I think there was a difference depending on what network one was using, but nothing a person could set. If you really want somebody not to see that you're typing, you can create the message in TextEdit and then copy/paste...

Perhaps you're thinking of Yahoo! Messenger... it has this option.

The official AIM client has this ability. So does Adium (a multi-systetm IM application).

If you're using Bonjour to communicate:

Open iChat preferences,

Click the Accounts tab, and select "Bonjour" from the list on the left.

Then, check/uncheck the box next to "Send text as i type".
