[HOW TO] Put your mac to sleep

no i just found while trying to force eject a cd stuck on a scratch. incidentally, is there a way to force eject?

Open the following folders:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/

in order to find and double click the:
Eject.menu

This will put an eject icon on your menu bar.

...without going through menus or scripts. put simply:

alt+apple+eject.
I got an even simpler way: Close the lid. (Of course, this doesn't work well on a desktop. ;) )

nice!

holding down the mouse button at startup is not really a viable option. i can eject the cd when it's booting out of sleep. i want to just force eject it. also the eject button on the taskbar only repeats what the key on my keyboard does... nothing at that precise moment.

Eject? OK, now I'm confused. Who said anything about ejecting a CD? I thought the original post was in reference to "How To Put Your Computer to Sleep." LOL

i'm not sure... i never found force eject. and it doesn't seem to exist, or at least the knowledge base here doesn't know about it...

that depends on the amount of gasoline you add and whether you enclose the whole thing. ;)
