Hey!

I’ve got an Android phone and want to upload all my photos to my Mac. I’m not sure how to do it though.

Anyone know the best way to transfer photos wirelessly from Android to Mac?

Any tips would be super helpful! Thanks!

I'll assume Android does not have Airdrop.
You likely need to either text or email them to yourself.
I know nothing about Android--perhaps there is a direct way to do all at once.

These options:

1. Google Photos :
- Upload your photos from your Android device to Google Photos.
- Download the Google Photos app on your iPhone or use the web version on your Mac to download the photos.

2. USB Cable and Computer:
- Connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable.
- Copy the photos from your Android device to your computer.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer and use iTunes or the Photos app on Mac to transfer the photos.

To quickly and wirelessly transfer photos from your Android phone to your Mac, you can use MacDroid. This app allows you to seamlessly connect your Android device to your Mac and transfer photos (and other files) without cables. It’s fast, efficient, and eliminates the need for additional software or complicated steps.

Simply download the app from the MacDroid page, and you'll be able to easily transfer your photos wirelessly in just a few clicks.

Give it a try and enjoy hassle-free photo transfers!

or
with a USB cable. easy peasy.
the 1st is free and I find better

or

Unlock your Android phone.
Connect your phone to your Mac using a USB cable.
On your phone, a notification will appear asking you how to connect to the computer. Choose "File Transfer" or "MTP".
Your phone's storage should now be accessible on your Mac like any other external drive

Here is a free app that makes it dead simple:

Blip (free for personal use)
https://blip.net/
(Fast file transfer directly between any two of your devices.
Requires a minimum of macOS 12.1 Monterey, iOS/iPadOS 15, or Android 9.
The Windows version is still in development.)

That android.p2hp.com Android File Transfer mirror looks a bit iffy, and AFT hasn’t been maintained for years — I tried it once and it was unstable and missed some files. MacDroid was already mentioned here, but for some reason someone linked to the French app store, although they do have a site. MacDroid worked fine for me — I moved a few hundred photos over both USB and Wi‑Fi without problems; solid for bulk transfers. If you want a free route there are open‑source options, but you’ll have to hunt them down. Tip: download from the official site and on the phone choose “File transfer/MTP” and allow access when it asks.

Thank you for the advice :)
Yes, I downloaded MacDroid from the official website. I tested it a bit, and I liked how it works.
