How to remove Adobe Gamma on an eMac

Registered
have a Spyder2express and an eMac computer.

I have read that before I profile my monitor using any monitor calibrator, I must first remove Adobe Gamma alias from start up folder. That this file must be deleted before using the monitor profiling system. That if I don't remove Adobe Gamma, there maybe problems creating a satisfactory profile with the Spyder2express.

The questions I have are:

1 I am unable to find the Adobe Gamma alias folder?

2. Could somebody walk me though the steps to find and delete the Adobe Gamma alias folder?

thanks

Go to System Preferences > Accounts > your accont > Startup items. Do you see Adobe Gamma listed? If not, it's not a startup item on your Mac.
A second thing in System Preferences. Display > Color. Do you see Adobe Gamma listed as any profile, or used as your main profile?
As you did not find gamma in spotlight search or normal search on your hard drive, it proably does not exist on your drive. (And it's more an issue for a Windows pc than a Mac anyway). If you don't find any traces of it also in system preferences, then there is no gamma. :)
