How to switch between two users

How to switch between two different users logged in the same macbook keeping both active. Say, i have put a download in one of my userID kevin and now i want to start using my other account "dorson" at the same time keeping my downloads active and i can keep switching back.

Go to the Account preferences in System preferences and activate Fast User Switching. Through the FUS menu item, you select a different account. The other (logged in) user stays in the background, but still active. Whether apps continue to work depends on the apps. For example, iChat logs you out, iTunes stops playing.

Thanks Fryke, it worked in the same way as u told me.. Its great now as i can login in multiple windows for diffeent activities..
