I currently have mac osx 10.4.11 on my macbook and i used to have snow leopard, but i wiped my macbook and rebooted it from the disk that came with it. i have borrowed a snow leopard disk of my friend but for some reason it wont let me install it? i've tried completely wiping the macbook and installing it but still no luck. could someone give me an easy step by step way of getting it reinstalled without having to pay. thanks :)

This install disc you borrowed is very likely the disc that came with your friends computer which will be model specific and therefore will not work on any other model, standard practise with Apple computers.
You will need an off-the-shelf retail version of Snow Leopard ($29)

You have to pay. That's how a person gets Snow Leopard.

While there are ways to get Snow Leopard without paying for it, those ways are illegal. This forum is strictly "legit" when it comes to discussion about Apple products, and, therefore, we cannot discuss these ways to acquire Snow Leopard without paying for it.

There are plenty of places on the internet that would be more than happy to help you pirate Snow Leopard -- this is just not one of those places.
