I got a HP DVD1040i burner that my Mac will read, using patchburn reads as vendor supported and shows up in the profiler. Burns CDs fine but will not burn DVDs. If I can get them to start, it will error out listing a communication error or just a verification error. I have had no luck at all. Tried this in my PC XP machine as well and got the same results. Is it possible its a bad drive? Any way to test for it?
