HP 1502 monitor issues

I received this monitor as a hand me down from a friend (a 15 inch flat panel HP 1502). I thought that the color was way too bright, so I adjusted all the settings and still the color was way to bright. I even put brightness on 0 ! Then, I tipped the monitor up on a higher angle, and it was fine. Why is that I cant have my monitor perpendicular to the table (normal facing angle)? I do not want to have to stick with the monitor at such an odd, sharp angle (looke like its almost parallel with my desk!!!!

Hmm... have you tried calibrating the display profile in the "Displays" pane of the System Preferences? Click the "Color" tab and then click the "Calibrate..." button. Run through the steps (turn on advanced features as well, if you like) and see if that helps.

Thanks for your help! :) I basically went through every callibration, and one of them seems to have fixed the problem!

Hah!!! Funny!! It is still too bright, and I have tried every other callibration. I still have to tip it up in order to get a normal viewing experience. What do I do now?
