Hp 2355 Problem

I have an Imac G5 with Tiger 10.4, and i have just bought a Hp 2355 all in one printer. The printer installed fine until it got to a setup assistant and it kept displayin 'No Device Found', which means i can't install the setup assistant and therefore the scanner will not function. The printer however does work, and i have checked to make sure the usb port is supporting the printer and it does show the make and model in that area. I have been on the Hp website and was told to access the login part in accounts, and then select the printers, Hp folder and then click on communications and add this to the start up, however i cannot seem to find the communications folder to solve it, any ideas or help would be much appreciated!

Hi MacDave,

I have found your question because I'm having the same problem. Could you please offer me some help?

That would be great and your response will be highly appreciated.

Hey Adriana,

After several phone calls from Hp they eventually gave me a website address to download a driver which actually works, (although for some reason it won't scan by pressing the button on printer you have to do it through the computer software). Anyway the address is www.tinyurl.com/axmwu. That should be a direct link to the driver you need to install. Hope it works for you!

Hi Dave,

IT DID NOT WORK! I feel frustrated and tired of it... I guess I need to call them. But I'm glad it worked out for you.

Hi Adriana,

I've been struggling with the same issue for two weeks now. Did you manage to solve this problem? I downloaded the above driver but still the HP software does not see the printer. There is also no Communications folder in my HP folder although during installation it says it has installed communications.

Just came back to tell you that I got the printer going. Basically you need to pull the latest driver from HP's web page. Follow this link for a really good description of how to solve this problem and suggestions for the best driver http://ruk.ca/discuss/2768.
