HP 8250i CD-RW drive doesn't work under X Beta

My HP 8250i CD-RW drive (IDE) works perfectly under OS 8.6, but OS X Beta's System Profiler doesn't even show the drive as being installed. Does anyone have any idea whether or not this is likely to be remedied with the final release of OS X?
 
probably. it's beta. no extra peripherals are supported. absolutely none. it's up to the manufacturer to make drivers and such.
